6. Is there a deadline to apply to Colegio Cumbres?
Not specifically. We operate under a “semi-rolling” admissions policy, meaning applications can be accepted on an individual basis throughout the year.
7. How is the school year determined for application?
The school year for each applicant is determined based on the date of birth and the cutoff age for preschool. In grades 1 and up, the grade level is determined by both the student’s previous grades completed and their age. In some cases, admissions observations may provide further information for student placement.
8. What is the admission process for applicants from 1st to 12th grade?
The process includes a review of documentation, a parental interview, and academic and psychological observations to determine the applicant’s academic and personal profile.
9. How long does it take to complete the admissions process?
The length of the admissions process depends greatly on the time of year. For preschool applicants, two Admissions Committees are established each year to review all cases. Since this involves analyzing a large group of families at the same time, the entire process can take between 5 and 6 months. For late applicants from K4 and above, it can take between 3 and 5 weeks, depending on the timely submission of all documentation and the schedules of the people in charge of conducting the assessments.
10. What documents does the school require for the admissions process?
Documents include the registration form, identification, academic certificates and grades (if applicable), employment letters from parents, a financial analysis request, etc. A detailed list of documents is provided when the family initiates the process.
11. Do I have to submit all the requested documents to be considered for admissions?
Yes, we cannot formalize the admissions process until we have all the requested documents.
12. What does the admissions process mean for the family and the school?
Conducting the admissions process does not guarantee that the institution will assign a spot. In addition to the fact that we receive a considerable volume of applications and our installed capacity is limited, we analyze many variables throughout the process to provide a responsible response.
13. Is the College required to explain the Admissions Committee's response?
No, the admissions committee makes the decision and it is confidential. Specific details of what happens in the process are not provided.
14. What is the ratio of students per group?
Starting in first grade, classrooms can reach a maximum of 25 students per classroom. For preschool, the numbers are different: Bambolino 1 and Bambolino 2: maximum 15 children per classroom; Kindergarten 3: maximum 20 children per classroom; Kindergarten 4 and Kindergarten 5: maximum 24 children per classroom.
This number of students per classroom allows us to ensure quality service delivery and fulfillment of our value proposition. It should also be noted that this number is a guideline, not an imposition. We work with human beings, and it may happen that we have a lower number of students in a classroom, and with that number, we may be overwhelmed with our capacity to serve and monitor this particular population.
